I am Richard “Ricky” Gallagher, the principle mediator and owner of Family Mediators. I have been a lawyer for over 25 years, helping families with their legal problems. I spent my early years with a large New Orleans firm before starting my own law firm in August of 2000. Part of the reason I started my firm is I wanted to help regular people not big companies. Much of my time as a lawyer has been spent in the courtroom fighting for my clients. As a mediator, I am hoping to “flip the script” and help my clients avoid court.
Megan Nelson is our Client Coordinator and has been working for me for almost a decade. Over the years, my clients absolutely love Megan. She took a sabbatical for about a year when she had her second child and my clients were so happy when she returned. Her job is to help you through the mediation process. Megan will answer your questions, gather information, schedule meetings and generally be there if you need her. Megan’s goal is to eventually be a mediator.
